TEMPLARS is pleased to announce that Mrs. Ronke Sokefun will be joining the firm as a Partner effective 1st September 2025.

Ronke brings a rare trifecta of previous experience as a leading law firm partner, corporate general counsel, and senior government official and regulator.

She will draw on this unique blend of experience to assist a wide range of clients including senior executives, boards of directors and public authorities in navigating complex governance, legal and regulatory challenges.

Ronke previously served as Chair of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, the first woman to hold that position. Before that, she was Chief Legal Officer of leading integrated energy group, Oando plc. She was also previously a Partner in one of Nigeria’s leading law firms.

A seasoned boardroom figure, she sits on various corporate and not-for-profit boards and committees including as the Chair of the Women’s Group of the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria (CIoD) where she mentors emerging women leaders.

She is a Fellow of both the CIoD and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, and holds a Global Competent Boards Designation (GCB.D) in ESG from the Competent Boards Institute, Canada. She has completed executive training programmes at Harvard Business School, Kellogg Business School, Cambridge Judge Business School, INSEAD, and Lagos Business School.

Her public service career included appointments at different times as Commissioner for Urban & Physical Planning, Commissioner for Agriculture, and Director-General of the Bureau of Lands & Survey in the government of Ogun State.
