Templars has advised Helios Investment Partners (“Helios”), a leading Africa-focused private investment firm in connection with a multimillion-dollar debt financing provided to marine logistics company, Starzs Investments Company Limited (“Starz”) for the acquisition and financing of MV Varada Queen, a terminal tugboat which Starzs operates under a master time charter agreement with Esso Exploration and Production Limited, a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil.

The facility was arranged by Helios Anchor Maritime Limited while financial advisory firm, Alkebulan and international towage consultants, Marint Offshore Services acted as advisers to Starzs.

The Templars team on the acquisition and financing work streams was led by Maritime Law Partner, Inam Wilson and Finance Partner, Chike Obianwu, with support from Senior Associates, Desmond Ogba and Temple Uchegbune and Associates, Mojisola Fashola, Nkechi Obichere and Ivie Omoregie. The team advised alongside Hogan Lovells, who acted as international counsel to Helios.
