Templars is pleased to have advised on the African LNG Deal of the Year announced at Project Finance International (PFI) Awards 2020.
The award was for the precedent-setting US$3 billion multi-tranche corporate financing provided to Nigeria LNG Limited for the development of its Train 7 Expansion Project (read here).
The large and complex financing, which was completed during the most volatile period in the oil & gas sector in 40 years, was the first time that the development of an LNG project was financed using a multi-sourced corporate loan structure.
On the transaction, Templars acted as Co-Counsel, along with International Law Firm, White & Case to 31 lenders including 3 export credit agencies (ECAs), 2 developmental financial institutions (DFIs) and 26 international and Nigerian banks.
