Our Partner Sadiku Ilegieuno and Associates, Nosakhare Iyamu and Lawal Kazeem’s paper on “Online Defamation: Rethinking the Liability of Internet Intermediaries for Third-Party Defamatory Contents in Nigeria” has been published by the Gravitas Review of Business & Property Law 2021.

The paper examines the position of Nigerian law on the vexed issue of the liability of Internet Service Providers (“ISPs”) or internet intermediaries, as they are often called, in relation to defamatory contents posted on their digital platforms by third party internet users.

It aims to answer recurring questions within Nigerian law while drawing inspiration from what is happening in other jurisdictions.
