Since the privatization of Nigeria’s power sector, most investors and developers have chosen to Finance and build medium- to large-scale grid projects by utilizing diﬀerent forms of energy. While there have been a few successful completions in the market, the vast majority of on-grid projects have stalled for various reasons.
Despite these obstacles, investments in the power sector have remained relatively consistent since most investors have shifted towards deploying the mini-grid model.
This article analyses the risks and rewards of financing mini-grid power projects with information and practical solutions to investors for the funding and development of such projects.
