In recent times, the global demand for clean energy sources continues to disrupt the use of fossil fuels.

At the COP26 Conference on Climate Change, Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to the goal of attaining net zero carbon emissions by 2060.

Presently, Nigeria is ranked 7th among countries that flare gas the most, with almost 10% of gas production flared.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has, however, identified natural gas as a cleaner source of energy and the recently enacted Petroleum Industry Act underscores natural gas as the transition fuel in Nigeria.

It is an opportunity to leverage its vast gas resources to quicken industrialization, and the Nigerian gas-based-industries have the highest market growth potential.
