Leading Nigerian Law Firm, Templars has today announced the return of Emmanuel Gbahabo as a partner in its Corporate Governance, Compliance & Dispute Resolution Practices, effective Monday 7 January 2019.
Emmanuel has nearly three decades of experience as a seasoned litigator and a trusted compliance and corporate counsel. He is highly regarded for his work in conducting and/or advising on some of the most sensitive corporate internal investigations that have occurred in the Nigerian market in the past fifteen years. His practice includes representing corporations, directors and officers as well as regulatory and public authorities in connection with white collar crime, asset tracing, governance and compliance matters.
He is rejoining Templars from his most recent position as Group Head of Legal Services for Sahara Group, a leading international energy and infrastructure conglomerate with operations in over 38 countries across Africa, Middle East, Europe and Asia.
Before joining Sahara, he played a pivotal role in the growth of the Disputes Resolution Practice at Templars, where he acted as lead counsel on numerous court and arbitral proceedings arising from diverse sectors including oil, gas and power; banking and finance; shipping and maritime; information technology and intellectual property and real estate. He was particularly active in representing international oil companies in relation to the defence and settlement of oil spill litigation and similar environmental damage claims.
