He is a highly experienced transactional lawyer, with expertise in corporate, project and trade-related finance, and mergers & acquisition. He regularly advises commercial banks, development finance institutions, national and international oil companies, sponsors and developers, on complex cross-border financings as well as asset acquisitions and divestments across the oil and gas and infrastructure sectors.
Chidubem holds an MBA from the University of South Wales, and is well regarded by clients for the lateral thinking and commercial approach he brings to bear in structuring and negotiating deals.
He is ranked by the IFLR 1000 for his work on some of the most complex cross-border financing transactions in Nigeria, such as the USD3 billion multi-source financing of the development of Nigeria LNG Limited’s 7th liquefaction train – recognized as the “2020 African LNG Deal of the Year” by Project Finance International.
Chidubem also supports the growth of the fintech ecosystem in Nigeria, by bringing his deep appreciation of the legal, finance and regulatory landscapes in these parts to bear in handholding startups, angel investors, and VCs participating in Nigeria’s tech space.
