APRIL (ADDIS ABABA) – The 13th Annual African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (AVCA) conference held from 25 – 27 April, 2016 at the Sheraton Addis in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Chike Obianwu, Templars Partner, served as session chairman during the event.
Billed as the largest African Private Equity gathering globally, the AVCA Annual Conference is the association’s flagship event, providing a platform for the private equity and venture capital industry in Africa to discuss the most pertinent opportunities and issues of the year, as well as highlight prospective investment markets on the continent.
Some topics discussed at this year’s conference include: Powering Africa’s Infrastructure, Energy and Renewable Sectors; Mezzanine: Financing the Mid-Market Funding Gap and Successful PE Exits: Developing Capital Markets & Other Exit Routes in Africa.
Since its first edition in 2003 in Cameroun, AVCA has held conferences in all four corners of Africa including Egypt and Morocco in the North, Kenya in the East, Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal in the West, as well as Botswana and South Africa down South. The annual conference usually attracts over 500 delegates from over 30 countries globally.
